Turn Slides into Templates

With the Template Plugin, you can convert existing slides into reusable templates with placeholders for dynamic content.

Requirements

This feature requires the Template Plugin to be activated. Without the plugin, only slides (not templates) can be created.

What Changes with the Template Plugin

When the Template Plugin is active:

• The term Slide is replaced by Template throughout the CMS interface
• A new Create from template option appears in the Add menu and in the right-click context menu
• Creating content now generates templates by default instead of one-off slides

Converting Slides to Templates

Once the plugin is enabled, existing slides can be turned into templates. This allows you to:

• Define fixed elements (logos, backgrounds, layout) that remain consistent
• Add placeholders for content that changes between uses (text, images)
• Generate multiple slides from a single template, each with different placeholder content

Workflow

1. Activate the Template Plugin on your account
2. Open an existing slide in the Content Designer
3. Define which elements should be placeholders (editable) and which should be fixed
4. Save the design — it is now a reusable template
5. Use Create from template to generate new slides with different content
