Live Video Streaming
viewneo supports displaying live video streams on your screens. You can embed streaming content from various sources and integrate it into your playlists.
Resolution Behavior
Section titled “Resolution Behavior”Video streams are always displayed at the resolution of the stream source. A stream in HD resolution (1280 × 720) will not scale up to fill a Full HD display (1920 × 1080) — the remaining space will be black.
Adding a Live Stream
Section titled “Adding a Live Stream”There are two ways to display a live video stream:
Method 1: As Website Content
Section titled “Method 1: As Website Content”- Add a new website in the Content section (click Add > Add Website)
- Enter the stream URL as the website address
- Add the website to your playlist
Method 2: Embedded in a Slide
Section titled “Method 2: Embedded in a Slide”- Add the stream URL as website content (see above)
- Open the Content Designer and create a new slide
- Insert the website as a media file
- Position and resize the video area on the stage
This method allows you to combine the live stream with other design elements (text, logos, backgrounds) and control exactly where the video appears on screen.
Supported Formats
Section titled “Supported Formats”viewneo supports HLS streams using the M3U8 playlist format. This is the most widely used streaming protocol for live video delivery.
Requirements
Section titled “Requirements”- The player must have an active internet connection
- The stream source must be accessible from the player’s network
- Stream quality depends on the player’s available bandwidth
