Mandatory Playlists

Mandatory playlists allow you to enforce specific content on sub-account devices. This is useful for contractual advertising obligations or company-wide announcements that must be displayed on all screens.

Setting Up a Mandatory Playlist

1. Go to Settings > Sub-Accounts
2. Click the options button (three dots) next to the target sub-account
3. Select Edit Mandatory Playlist
4. Change from Mandatory Playlist disabled to your chosen playlist
5. Configure the behavior settings
6. Save

Playback Behavior

Three modes are available:

Play All Content

Every item in the mandatory playlist plays during each playlist cycle, in addition to the sub-account’s own device playlist content.

Continuous (On-going)

Plays a specified number of items per cycle in sequential order. Configure:

• Content per pass — How many items play each time
• Order — Forward or backward playback direction

The playlist cycles through all items over multiple passes, then restarts.

Shuffle (Random)

Plays a specified number of randomly selected items per cycle. Configure:

• Content per run — How many items play each time

Positioning

The mandatory playlist can be positioned at the beginning or end of the sub-account’s device playlist. Insertion at intermediate positions is not supported.

Visibility

The mandatory playlist is visible within the sub-account’s playlist view and is clearly distinguishable from regular nested playlists.

Note

Mandatory playlists are managed entirely from the Enterprise account. Sub-accounts cannot modify or remove them.
