Mandatory Playlists
Mandatory playlists allow you to enforce specific content on sub-account devices. This is useful for contractual advertising obligations or company-wide announcements that must be displayed on all screens.
Setting Up a Mandatory Playlist
Section titled “Setting Up a Mandatory Playlist”- Go to Settings > Sub-Accounts
- Click the options button (three dots) next to the target sub-account
- Select Edit Mandatory Playlist
- Change from Mandatory Playlist disabled to your chosen playlist
- Configure the behavior settings
- Save
Playback Behavior
Section titled “Playback Behavior”Three modes are available:
Play All Content
Section titled “Play All Content”Every item in the mandatory playlist plays during each playlist cycle, in addition to the sub-account’s own device playlist content.
Continuous (On-going)
Section titled “Continuous (On-going)”Plays a specified number of items per cycle in sequential order. Configure:
- Content per pass — How many items play each time
- Order — Forward or backward playback direction
The playlist cycles through all items over multiple passes, then restarts.
Shuffle (Random)
Section titled “Shuffle (Random)”Plays a specified number of randomly selected items per cycle. Configure:
- Content per run — How many items play each time
Positioning
Section titled “Positioning”The mandatory playlist can be positioned at the beginning or end of the sub-account’s device playlist. Insertion at intermediate positions is not supported.
Visibility
Section titled “Visibility”The mandatory playlist is visible within the sub-account’s playlist view and is clearly distinguishable from regular nested playlists.
