Manage Devices

Once you have paired Zigbee actuators with your Butler, you can manage them from the viewneo CMS. This includes viewing device status, renaming devices, testing connections, and removing devices that are no longer needed.

  1. Log in to the viewneo CMS at cms.viewneo.com.
  2. Navigate to Devices and select your Butler.
  3. Open the Paired Devices section.

You will see a list of all actuators currently paired with this Butler, including:

  • Device name — The name you assigned during pairing.
  • Device type — The category of the actuator (plug, bulb, relay, sensor, etc.).
  • Status — Whether the device is currently reachable (Online / Offline).
  • Last seen — The timestamp of the last successful communication.

To rename or reconfigure a paired device:

  1. Click on the device entry in the paired devices list.
  2. Update the device name or other settings as needed.
  3. Click Save to apply the changes.

You can test whether a paired device is responding correctly:

  1. Select the device from the paired devices list.
  2. Click the Test button (if available).
  3. The Butler will send a test command to the actuator (e.g., toggle a plug on/off or flash a light).

This is useful for verifying that the actuator is still within radio range and functioning properly after installation.

Each paired device reports its status to the Butler:

StatusMeaning
OnlineThe device is reachable and responding to commands.
OfflineThe device is not responding. It may be out of range, unpowered, or malfunctioning.
UnknownThe status could not be determined. This may occur briefly after a Butler restart.

To unpair and remove a device from the Butler:

  1. Select the device from the paired devices list.
  2. Click Remove Device or Unpair.
  3. Confirm the removal when prompted.

The actuator will be disconnected from the Butler and will no longer respond to commands from the CMS.

After removal, the actuator may need to be factory-reset before it can be paired again. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions for the reset procedure.
