Actions
An action defines what happens when a trigger fires (and all filter conditions are met). The available actions depend on which plugins are activated on your account.
How Actions Work
Section titled “How Actions Work”When a trigger condition is met and all filters pass, the assigned action is executed. Each event can have one action.
Common Actions
Section titled “Common Actions”The specific actions available to you depend on your activated plugins. Common action types include:
Play Content
Section titled “Play Content”Switch to a specific content item or playlist. Useful for interactive displays where a touch or sensor input should change what is shown on screen.
Navigate to URL
Section titled “Navigate to URL”Open a website or web application in the player browser. Can be used for interactive kiosk displays.
Send Signal
Section titled “Send Signal”Send a signal to an external device via RS-232 or other interfaces. Useful for controlling external hardware (e.g., turning on a light, triggering a sound system).
Synchronize
Section titled “Synchronize”Synchronize content playback across multiple screens using the Screen Sync Plugin.
Setting Up an Action
Section titled “Setting Up an Action”- Edit a playlist and open the Events tab
- Create or select a trigger
- Optionally add Filters to refine when the trigger fires
- Select the Action to perform
- Configure the action parameters (e.g., which content to play, which URL to open)
- Save the event
