Setting the Playlist Behavior

When nesting a playlist inside another playlist, you can configure how the nested playlist’s content is played back. Access these settings by clicking on the nested playlist and opening the Behavior tab.

This is the default mode. Every item in the nested playlist plays through completely each time the nested playlist is reached in the main playlist.

Use case: When you want all nested content to play every time — e.g., a complete set of announcements.

Play a specific number of items in sequential order, then continue where you left off next time. The nested playlist can appear multiple times within the main playlist.

Example: If set to 2, the first two items play the first time, items 3 and 4 play the second time, and so on — cycling back to the beginning after all items have played.

Use case: Ideal for ad blocks where you want to rotate through ads over time without showing all of them at once.

Play a specific number of items in random order each time the nested playlist is reached.

Example: If set to 3, three randomly selected items play each time.

Use case: When you want variety without a predictable sequence — e.g., rotating tips or trivia.

  2. Click on the nested playlist
