Weather Plugin

The Weather Plugin displays current weather data and a multi-day forecast on your screens — for example in reception areas, shop windows, or on info displays.

Prerequisites

• An active viewneo subscription that includes the Weather Plugin
• At least one registered player

Note

The Weather Plugin is a Content Plugin that must be activated separately in your subscription. You can check whether it’s included under Account > Subscription > Add-on Plans. Learn how to activate plugins in the article Activate Plugins.

Creating a Weather Content

Step 1: Open the Media Library

1. Navigate to the Media Library in the sidebar
2. Right-click in the content area to open the context menu
3. Select Weather from the list of content types

Step 2: Configure the Weather Display

The settings dialog offers the following options:

Setting	Description
City	The city whose weather data should be displayed
Display Name	An alternative name shown on screen (e.g., the name of your location or business)
Language	The language for the weather display
Temperature Unit	Celsius or Fahrenheit

Tip

With the Display Name, you can show custom text instead of the city name — for example, the name of your company, hotel, or campus.

Step 3: Save and Add to Playlist

1. Click Save to create the weather content
2. The new content appears in your media library
3. Add the content to a playlist as usual

Caution

The player requires an active internet connection to display current weather data. Without a connection, the data cannot be updated.
