Live Ticker Plugin
The Live Ticker Plugin displays scrolling text along the edge of your screen — ideal for drawing attention to events, offers, or important information for customers, visitors, or employees.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- An active viewneo subscription that includes the Live Ticker Plugin
- At least one registered viewneo device
What the Live Ticker Can Do
Section titled “What the Live Ticker Can Do”The Live Ticker runs as scrolling text along the screen edge while your regular content continues playing in the background. You can use the following text sources:
- Custom text — freely written messages
- RSS feeds — e.g., news, sports scores, or your own feeds
Additionally, a clock display can be shown within the ticker.
Setting Up the Live Ticker
Section titled “Setting Up the Live Ticker”The Live Ticker is configured through the settings of devices or device groups.
Step 1: Open Device Settings
Section titled “Step 1: Open Device Settings”- Navigate to Devices in the sidebar
- Select a device group or an individual device
- In the settings (right side), click on the Live Ticker tab
Step 2: Configure the Ticker
Section titled “Step 2: Configure the Ticker”The Live Ticker tab offers the following settings:

| Display Text | Enter custom text or use an RSS feed as a source |
| Color | Customize text and background color of the scrolling text |
| Scroll Direction | The direction in which the text scrolls across the screen |
| Position | Where the ticker appears on the screen (e.g., top or bottom) |
Step 3: Set Up Clock Display (Optional)
Section titled “Step 3: Set Up Clock Display (Optional)”The Live Ticker can also display a clock. The following options are available:

| Position | Where the clock is displayed within the ticker |
Step 4: Save
Section titled “Step 4: Save”Click Save. The settings will be transferred to the player during the next sync.
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”Corporate
Section titled “Corporate”Display internal news, KPI updates, or event notices as scrolling text on displays in cafeterias and common areas.
Retail
Section titled “Retail”Show current offers, promotions, or opening hours as a ticker on displays in the sales area or shop window.
Education
Section titled “Education”Inform students and staff about timetable changes, campus events, or important announcements on info displays.
Frequently Asked Questions

Section titled “Does the ticker run alongside my regular content?”Yes. The Live Ticker is displayed as an overlay on top of the running screen content — your playlists continue playing normally in the background.
Can I use multiple RSS feeds simultaneously?
Section titled “Can I use multiple RSS feeds simultaneously?”This depends on the configuration. You can flexibly populate the ticker text with custom text and RSS feeds.
Can I show the ticker only on specific devices?
Section titled “Can I show the ticker only on specific devices?”Yes. You can enable or disable the Live Ticker at both the device group and individual device level.
