Reports Plugin
The Reports Plugin gives you a complete overview of your players’ playout history — which content was played when, where, and how often, and what errors occurred.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- An active viewneo subscription that includes the Reports Plugin
- At least one registered viewneo device
- Reports must be enabled per device or device group
What Reports Answer
Section titled “What Reports Answer”With Reports, you can answer questions like:
- Which player played what and when?
- Which content was played where, how often, and when?
- Which content could not be played due to errors?
- Which players had playback problems?
How Reports Work
Section titled “How Reports Work”When the Reports function is active, each player sends data to the viewneo cloud after every content playback and every sync. This data includes the current time, whether content was played correctly, which content was played, and which files were updated or could not be downloaded.
Enabling Reports
Section titled “Enabling Reports”Reports can be enabled for individual devices or for an entire device group.
- Navigate to Devices in the sidebar
- Select a device or a device group
- Open the Advanced Settings
- Switch to the Reports tab
- Enable the Reports function
- Click Save
Viewing Reports
Section titled “Viewing Reports”There are different ways to view report data:
Device Reports
Section titled “Device Reports”- Navigate to Devices in the sidebar
- Right-click on the desired device
- Select Reports from the context menu
- A window with the player’s playout history opens
Report Columns
Section titled “Report Columns”| Column | Description |

| Details | Name of the played content or the performed action |
Event Types
Section titled “Event Types”Each event is marked with a type:

Playout Events in Detail

| Skipped | A content item was skipped (e.g., no internet or scheduler) |

System Events in Detail

| Device is up to date | No new data available |
| Device Sync New Data | New data was received from the server |
| Device Sync End | New data was saved on the device |
Filtering and Sorting Reports
Section titled “Filtering and Sorting Reports”Sorting
Section titled “Sorting”Click on a column header (indicated by an arrow) to sort the list by that column.
Filtering
Section titled “Filtering”| Filter | Description |

| Entry Type | Show all events or only specific types (Playout, System, Error) |
| Time Period | Predefined time periods or Custom with start and end date |
After selecting a filter, click the Reload button to update the list.
Content Detail View
Section titled “Content Detail View”Click on the content name in a Playout event to open a graphical representation of the timeline. This shows how often the content was played — across all devices and device groups, not just the selected player.
Use Cases

Section titled “Retail”Check whether advertising campaigns are played correctly and completely on all store displays — and identify errors early.
Corporate
Section titled “Corporate”Monitor the playout of corporate messages and verify that all locations have synced the latest content.
Public Sector
Section titled “Public Sector”Document the playout history of info displays in public buildings — e.g., for compliance records or quality assurance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Section titled “Frequently Asked Questions”Do I have to enable Reports for each device individually?
Section titled “Do I have to enable Reports for each device individually?”No. You can enable Reports for an entire device group — the setting then applies to all devices in the group.
How long is report data stored?
Section titled “How long is report data stored?”The retention period depends on your subscription. Details can be found in your account settings.
Can I export Reports?
