Touch Elements Plugin
The Touch Elements Plugin makes individual objects, text elements, or media files in your slides and templates interactive. When a viewer touches a touch element on the display, a defined action is triggered — for example, switching to an information page.
Prerequisites
Section titled “Prerequisites”- An active viewneo subscription that includes the Touch Elements Plugin
- A touch-capable screen
- At least one registered viewneo device
How the Plugin Works
Section titled “How the Plugin Works”Unlike the Website Interaction Plugin, which switches to a website on touch, the Touch Elements Plugin enables targeted interaction with individual elements within your slides. Combined with the Events system, you control what happens when an element is touched.
Setting Up Touch Elements
Section titled “Setting Up Touch Elements”Setup consists of two parts: First, make elements in the slide “touchable”, then define via Events what should happen on touch.
Part 1: Making Elements Touchable
Section titled “Part 1: Making Elements Touchable”Step 1: Open Slide or Template in the Editor
Section titled “Step 1: Open Slide or Template in the Editor”Open the desired slide or template in the Slide/Template Editor.
Step 2: Select an Element
Section titled “Step 2: Select an Element”Click on the element that should become interactive — e.g., an image, text field, shape, or button.
Step 3: Enable Touch Interaction
Section titled “Step 3: Enable Touch Interaction”In the right toolbar, you’ll find the Touch Interaction setting. Select:
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Disabled | The element does not respond to touch |
| Touch | The element becomes interactive and responds to touch |
Part 2: Creating Events for the Interaction
Section titled “Part 2: Creating Events for the Interaction”For an action to be triggered on touch, you need to configure Events in the playlist.
Step 1: Open Playlist Settings
Section titled “Step 1: Open Playlist Settings”- Navigate to the desired Playlist
- Click the gear icon to open the playlist settings
Step 2: Create Events
Section titled “Step 2: Create Events”For a typical touch interaction, you need two events:
Event 1 — Jump to information page on touch:
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Trigger | Touch Interaction |
| Filter | The element to be touched (optional) |
| Action | Go to Content → (select information page) |
Event 2 — Skip information page (in normal playback):
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Trigger | Content End |
| Filter | The preceding content (before the information page) |
| Action | Go to Content → (next offer / next regular content) |
Step 3: Save
Section titled “Step 3: Save”Save the events. The configuration will be transferred to the player during the next sync.
Use Case: Travel Agency
Section titled “Use Case: Travel Agency”A travel agency wants to show many offers in quick succession on a touch display in the shop window:
- Offer slides show only key info: destination, number of people, price, and a pulsating “More Info” button
- Offers rotate at short intervals — increasing the chance of showing the right offer
- When a viewer touches the button, the display switches to a detailed information page
- Without interaction, the playlist jumps to the next offer
